Important Information from the Mayor

Friends and Neighbors,

I sincerely hope that this email finds you all healthy and following Federal, State and local requirements for keeping yourself and others protected from the spread of Covid-19.

There are two very important things that I want to share with you. They are;

1. Stay at Home Orders and
2. Federal Payroll assistance programs

Stay at Home –
Hopefully, by now, you are all aware that Governor Abbott has called for a Statewide Stay at Home order effective 12:01 AM tomorrow. This means that only those businesses that are deemed essential may remain open and only those employed by those businesses are exempt.

Comal County and the City of Spring Branch are urging everyone to comply with this order. Beginning tomorrow, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office will initiate a “compliance task force” to look for violations of that order. Those found to be in violation will be instructed verbally to comply. Those who continue to disregard the order and the verbal instructions could face fines of up to $1000 or up to 180 days imprisonment. As of this afternoon, there are 14 confirmed cases in Comal County, up from 11 yesterday. The threat is real and these requirements are our best means to a healthy outcome.

Financial Assistance –
The financial impacts to business owners is tremendous. You’ve been hearing about various stimulus and assistance programs from Congress.
I have attached details on a program designed to keep folks employed and to keep businesses in operation.

If you have questions about this program, you should contact your bank for details.

As with every hardship that our Country, our State and our Community has experienced, we will get through this one as well.

Please share this email with anyone that you feel should read it. Our City email list only includes those which have signed up to receive it, so please, pass it on!

Regards,
Mayor Mayer
